A UK project in development

Save money on
your takeaway

The same meal can come with different ordering costs. Tuckello aims to help you understand the total before you choose where to order.

Compare your order totals

Enter your own prices below. Live restaurant comparisons and ordering are not yet available.

Compare your own prices

Which order costs less?

Enter the costs for the same meal on two ordering options. Include all compulsory fees and only discounts you can use. For collection, include travel or parking costs if relevant.

Option B

Your comparison starts here

Enter a food price for both options. Leave any costs that do not apply blank.

Your entries stay in this page and are not saved or sent to us.

This calculates the figures you enter. It does not fetch prices, check offer eligibility or confirm availability. Check the final checkout total before ordering.

A preview of the planned pilot

Same meal. A clearer total.

Our first planned area is Bromborough and the surrounding CH62 area. This example shows how a comparison could present the same order, its fees and the total on each ordering option.

Burger and chips for one

Example basket: one standard burger and one regular portion of chips. Same items, sizes and extras on both options.

Illustrative example
Fulfilment: delivery on both optionsRestaurant: fictional examplePrice check: not applicable — invented figures

Order costRestaurant directOrdering platform
Food and extras£15.00£14.00
Delivery£2.50£3.00
Service and other compulsory fees£1.20£0.50
Discount£0.00£0.00
Total to pay£18.70£17.50

In this example, the platform total is £1.20 lower. Restaurant-direct ordering is worth checking, but it will not always cost less.

No membership benefits, optional tips or priority delivery included. No real restaurant or platform is represented. This preview has no ordering links.

Real pilot comparisons will need authorised prices, the exact branch and basket, fee and offer conditions, and a date and time checked. Coverage and access to those details are still being developed.

Three checks before you order

You can compare your own options today. These guides explain what to look for; they do not list live prices or verified discount codes.

1. Compare the same meal at checkout

Choose the same restaurant branch, items, sizes and extras on each ordering option. Use the same delivery destination and compare within a short time window.

Check the final amount before payment: food, delivery, service charges and any other compulsory fees, less a discount you are actually eligible to use. Keep optional tips and priority delivery consistent.

A cheaper menu price or “free delivery” label does not by itself mean a lower total. Deliveroo’s official fee guide describes delivery, service and small-order charges. Check your own basket for the amounts that apply.

Write down: provider, basket items, final total, delivery or collection, offer conditions, and the time checked. If an option is unavailable, record that rather than guessing its price.

2. Check restaurant-direct and collection options

Look for the restaurant’s own official website or phone number. Check the branch and address so you are comparing the same business. A search result may lead to a third-party ordering service, so check where the order is actually placed.

Compare the direct total, any delivery minimum and fees, payment options, opening times and the estimated fulfilment time. Direct ordering is an option to check, not a promise of a lower price.

If collection is practical, compare it separately. Include travel or parking costs when deciding whether collecting is worthwhile, and label it clearly as collection rather than delivery.

Before paying: confirm the order details and which business will handle changes, refunds or problems.

3. Check whether an offer really reduces your spend

Read the offer on the provider’s official page or in its app. Check expiry, location, participating restaurants, minimum spend, maximum discount, new-customer restrictions and whether it can be combined with other offers.

Apply the offer and compare the final payable total. If you must add food to qualify, compare the new total with the original basket. Spending more to unlock a discount can still cost more overall.

Keep membership benefits separate from offers available to everyone. If you are considering a subscription, include its cost and compare the benefits against how often you would realistically order.

Example using invented figures: a £12 basket with a £2 small-order fee totals £14 before other charges. Adding a £3 side to remove the fee makes it £15. Removing the fee has increased the spend by £1. This is arithmetic, not a current restaurant offer.

Editorial guides checked 2 October 2026. Prices, fees and offer eligibility can change; confirm them with the provider before purchasing.

The planned approach

How it works

We are developing a way to compare total takeaway ordering costs, explore restaurant-direct options and highlight legitimate offers when available.

01 / COMPARE THE TOTAL

Look beyond the menu price

The aim is to compare the food price together with delivery, service and other applicable charges, so the final cost is easier to understand.

02 / EXPLORE YOUR OPTIONS

Consider ordering direct

We plan to include restaurant-direct options where available, alongside other ways to order. Direct ordering will not always be the cheapest choice.

03 / CHECK THE DETAILS

Find legitimate offers

We aim to explain relevant offer conditions, such as minimum spend, eligibility and expiry, so you can judge whether an offer suits your order.

Currently in Development

Tuckello is a pre-launch project. This page introduces the idea, provides practical saving guides and lets you compare costs you enter yourself; it does not currently provide live price comparisons, takeaway ordering or verified offers.

Features, coverage and launch timing are still being developed. No savings are guaranteed, and no restaurant, delivery platform or advertiser partnership is being claimed.

About Tuckello

Tuckello is a UK takeaway comparison and money-saving project. Its aim is to make the overall cost of ordering food easier to understand and help people make informed choices.

We intend to focus on clear total-cost comparisons, restaurant-direct options and legitimate offers. Availability and final prices should always be checked with the ordering provider before purchase.
